Fun Friday!
We got there at around 7:30 in the morning *yawn* because I had to take Christine to work cause her car died......and I needed my car in order to be able to transport Mr. Riley. Thank God Bonnie made some coffee...although I gotta tell ya I have become a lightweight coffee drinker cause I was FLYING on the java she made. Homegirl is now a pansy and is used to weaker stuff. LOL She also graciously made me some wonderful breakfast so that I would not fly off into outerspace with empty tummy on "superjava". It was YUMMY!
I was surprised with some really cool gifts - a book called "Knitting Rules" which is not only really informative and stress relieving from a "it's only string" standpoint - it is hilarious! There is nothing snobby about the author - Stephanie Pearl-Mcphee; in fact, she is a very self-deprecating down to earth soul. I am so much more relaxed (well so far anyway) after reading that how I have felt and am feeling about my new hobby/lifestyle is NOT bizarre. Bonnie also gave me a really cute cat bracelet that is a row counter! And some yarn from her HUGE stash! She told me she had a "store" but I had no idea just how true that statement was! Oh and she also gave me a darning needle which is an essential item to have it my knitting tool kit.
I am almost finished with my newest project which is also my most courageous endeavor yet - A beret! I am going to try and finish it in my class today and if I do I will get terry to take some pictures with me wearing it. The most recent project I finished is a CA facecloth -0 which has the outline of the state and the letters CA on it....I think I may have boo-booed a little on the "C" but no big deal...... so here it is......

My knitting practice Swatches
I (long ago) attempted a start at knitting and crocheting and just couldn't get out of my own way or sit still long enough to really really concentrate. And above all I never FINISHED anything I started before......
I am so thrilled and tickled and excited about the possibilities......
One of the other great benefits about deciding to try knitting (again) is that it is presenting an opportunity to bond further with a whole lot of important women in my life - Bonnie, Christine, Cynthia, and it's looking like Alison wants to start knitting too! Yippee!!!! This is so cool!
ok all for now!
Later.............
Oh yeah - I am calling myself a Knitting Knovice - LOL

Checking In
I am tired....for those who know me it wuold be a shock for you to hear or see me type that I was about to lock my kitties out of the bedroom last night! Kiki has taken to wanting to lay by my head and run her one remaining upper fang through my hair as I try to fall asleep (sleep is a very elusive creature these days or should I say nights) and she wants to share my pillow and I continuously move her towards the foot of the bed whereupon she promptly attempts to regain her position on my pillow and we go round and round...Tasha finds this to be very opportune as she loves to jump on Kiki as I am sending her back to the foot of the bed OR if Kiki jumps to the floor (as a momentary distraction for me) Tsha chases her and a caucophony of hissing takes place. If that isn't enough Tasha decides to jump onto the bathroom vanity and plays with her "father's" plastic glass which rests in the sink should he want a drink of water in the middle of the night. Mind you this same glass USED to sit on his nightstand with water in it for the same purpose but since Tasha feels obligated to try to drink out of any glass filled with water and possibly knock it over along with its contents this practice had to be doscontinued. Between them and the dog and his new pee-pot 3 times a night schedule I am not only tired - I am exhausted! Will I kick my babies out of the room? NO....The guilt would be harder to live with than the lack of sleep......
Well we're off to run errands shortly so I better go take a shower......
Oh watched Twilight last night...LOVED it!
ok later....

Staying at home today
Okay so I have tested all the tanks.....Rudy's needed a water change and it usually does. Spike's is in need of WC too and I will do that after I get something to eat. The big tank seems to be ok as far as Ammonia....I am going to do a small WC anyway....3 goldies just make too much poop to NOT do one. I'm going to test for Nitrates in Spike's too to see if they've built up any. Okay so the fishies are under control.
So here is my to do list today:
- Walk Riley (left over from yesterday)
- Vaccuum
- Mop kitchen and dining room
- Put some files away in new file cabinet
- If time - organize files more appropriately
- Water front flowers - if time pull old zinnia stalks in prep for new plants
- Balance checkbook - (Done actually! :D)
Have made a decision to try and watch my food intake with respect to staying away from foods that I eat aimlessly and just because they are here. Threw away a half bag (the big one) of peanut M & M's yesterday because it kept calling me...... I don't want to be on a DIET (four letter word) I just want to feel better ....again... Excercise is part of the equation too. Now that I am getting my wonderful hormones equalized maybe I will feel more inclined to do something since I am also getting more restful sleep again.
See ya later............

Well how long will this last?
I think i tried this once before and as with most things for me, being ADD, it was left by the wayside as I chased other "chickens". Some know where the chicken thing came from. There is a T-shirt with a saying - "They say I have ADD but they just don't under......oh look a chicken!"
It is not easy or fun being distracted when you truly want to accomplish getting things done. On the other hand it is very satisfying when you can do five things at once and remember where you left off each time you get back to one you left incomplete. The world, however is not geared for someone like me. And it can be demoralizing when you see the accomplishments of others who either do no suffer from or have found a way to make the ADD work in their favor without guilt or frustration. I have so many "projects" that beg for my attention and I make plans in my head to get to them NEXT and inevitably I don't do what is in my head but what catches my attention at that moment.
So here are my "plans" for today -
- Go to bank to have signature recorded,
- go to Trader Joes,
- Go to Costco or Sam's,
- water the plants in the back yard,
- clean the cat's litter box,
- take riley for a walk,
- check at Blockbuster to see if I can rent a blu-ray of Twilight.
- Test the water in all of the fishtanks and change water accordingly.
Since I do not have to go to a "job" this should all be do-able right?
We shall see.....
Will I check back her tomorrow to continue this and see how I did against my list?
Odds are NO but maybe I will surprise myself.
Later.....................
Okay so it's later and this is what I got done today:
- Go to bank to have signature recorded,
- Go to Trader Joes,
- Go to Costco or Sam's (Sam's won!)
- Water the plants in the back yard,
- Clean the cat's litter box,
Not bad.........Riley and the fish get attention first tomorrow.....
